2020 has been a challenging year, first with the COVID-19 pandemic and then wildfires that have ravaged California
Northern California and Bay Area wildfire survivors have lost loved ones, homes, businesses, pets, and livestock. One pregnant community member could not be admitted to her local hospital to deliver her infant because of the wildfire threat. She was diverted to a hospital outside her area only to learn that after delivering her baby, she and her now "two" children's home has been destroyed and leaves them with nowhere to go. Sadly, there are many others like this young mother who are newly homeless.
The San Francisco Junior Deputy Program's "ZoomBeyond" Initiative will give holiday gift boxes to Northern California and Bay Area survivors who have lost so much. Your donations will pay for much-needed items from personal care kits to gift cards for groceries and laptops for distance learning kids during the pandemic. Your contributions will also pay for meals to elderly wildfire survivors and resources for family members with special needs.
